As this is my last article as the ER, I am treating this month’s article similarly to the outgoing US president’s pardons; I am choosing to recognize more than one member. There are so many people in our lodge who do so much to make it amazing, and I wish I could recognize each of them for the generous time and effort they donate. But this month, I want to recognize 3 very special people who truly make our lodge amazing and have provided me with great wisdom and guidance during my time as ER. Doug Harpold, Ron, and Marie Starjnski are always working quietly to make our lodge awesome. Ron ot only leads our ENF efforts (first in the state in per capita), but he also always fixes things and serves as our Ritual team coach. Marie not only is our bar manager, but she also writes most of the articles that appear in the local papers and the National Magazine. Somewhere, she continues to find time to come up with great ideas for the lounge and is our ritual team candidate for the 3rd year in a row. Doug does so many things that it is hard to remember the sacrifices he makes with his time and talents. He is the sole publisher of the bugle you are reading. It takes days and many hours to produce this publication. He also leads our blood drive efforts and is incredibly generous with his time and money in supporting the Elks in so many ways.
