SEWING IT FORWARD

SEWING IT FORWARD

Sewing It Forward to help our Veterans and Kids

December 2025 Sewing it Forward

Busy as ever for this group. November 10th was a fantastic group of 24 ladies. Sewing 18 dignity bibs for the veterans 51 Gift bags for the Steele Kids. Stuffed with snacks, small toys etc. to keep them busy with their hospital stay. Pillow-cases too.

Christmas cards were signed for the men in the service.

We have delivered 10 Baby Gift bags for the upcoming Woman’s Health Center at the Southern AZ Health Care Center. Value at $1500.

Also, the same day, we delivered to the main hospital 30 Port Pillows, 15 Women’ Chemo Turbans, and 7 Dignity bibs.

Next month, Monday December 8th will be our Christmas Celebration, no sewing this day but might stuff a few bags etc. White elephant game with a value of $10 to $15. Potluck luncheons are always fabulous.

Since we started in April of this year, we have given to the Steele Center

118 pillowcases

235 Snakes for the NICU babies

85 Port pillows

27 Zipper Port t-shirts for the kids with ports

Christmas gift bags

Halloween masks

For the Clothe a Child, 26 pillowcases and 26 Christmas Stockings made by us and last spring we did book bags and pillowcases

Motorcycle Raffle came in with $695 that we gave to the Veterans Committee. The winner was Dana Allmond who is retired from the service but very active with the American Legion. 50 toiletry bags that we stuffed with goodies,

For the House Committee we made new aprons for the kitchen staff

For the local fire department, we made and donated a fireman wall hanging

If you are thinking, how do they do it. We sell lots of our items to the public and turn that cash into fabric for the pillowcases etc. Yes, we do sell quilts too. And we always accept donations to help us out.

So, stop by and visit these ladies, I am very proud of them.
